Publishing Ethics
The Journal of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence (JMAI) adheres to high ethical standards in the publication process. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold the following principles:
-
Plagiarism Policy: The Journal of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence maintains a strict policy on plagiarism. A total similarity index of less than 25% is required for all submitted manuscripts, and less than 5% similarity is allowed from each individual source. Submissions with a higher percentage of similarity will be rejected or returned for revision to ensure the originality of the work. Authors are encouraged to use proper citations and references to avoid plagiarism.
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts and their contents are confidential. Authors, reviewers, and editors should not disclose or use unpublished information for personal gain.
-
Double Blind Peer Review Policy: For a fair and unbiased review process, authors are required to submit two PDF manuscripts. The first manuscript should contain the author’s details (names, affiliations, and E-mail), while the second file should include only the manuscript, with no identifying author information. This ensures a double-blind review, allowing reviewers to assess the work solely based on its quality.
-
Conflict of Interest: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity of the manuscript evaluation.
-
Authorship Policy: Once a manuscript is accepted, no changes in authorship (addition, removal, or reordering) will be allowed. Authors must finalize the author list before submission to ensure transparency and proper attribution. Any concerns must be addressed before acceptance, as post-acceptance changes will not be considered.
-
Ethical Conduct in Research: Authors must ensure their research adheres to ethical standards, particularly in areas involving human subjects, animals, and sensitive data. Any violations should be reported to the editor.
-
Corrections and Retractions: If significant errors or ethical issues are found in published work, authors and editors are responsible for correcting or retracting the paper in a timely and transparent manner.
- Manuscript Withdrawal Policy: Authors may request withdrawal before acceptance by submitting a formal request with a valid reason. During review, withdrawal is discouraged but may be permitted with editorial approval. After acceptance, withdrawal is not allowed except for ethical concerns or exceptional cases, subject to the editor’s approval. Unethical withdrawal may result in a submission ban.
